Completion of the Stansfield Diploma in Business Administration(DBA) constitutes 63 credit hours towards UNB BBA.
The DBA is designed to provide a broad-based business education in management, accounting & finance, marketing and decision sciences. The curriculum has a strong emphasis on practical problem solving and decision making skills essential in the world of business today and covers the core knowledge and skills that executives and managers are expected to have.
The DBA course is aimed at helping those who are seeking to prepare themselves for degree studies and who want to equip themselves with comprehensive management knowledge to deal effectively with the rapidly changing environment. It offers a unique opportunity for students to enhance their understanding of the ‘whole enterprise’ in its competitive situation.
Examinations will be held at the end of every term. Students will be expected to maintain a minimum 90% class attendance and to attempt all assignments, projects and coursework to be awarded the Diploma in Business Administration. At the end of this programme, students will be able to: •Understand the theory and practice of specific functional management areas
•Understand how to plan more effectively, solve organisational problems and contribute towards making management decisions
•Apply specific functional management skills to increase the productivity and business efficiency in their areas of responsibility
•Assume higher levels of responsibility within specific functional management areas as a result of newly acquired /improved skills

A02 Quantitative Techniques for Business
The module enables the student to acquire a basic knowledge of data presentation. It also enables the student to understand the basic mathematical concepts of functions and their derivatives as required in many economics and business related subjects.
B01 - Consumer behaviour and consumer psychology
This module is an introduction to consumer behaviour and consumer psychology. The psychology of how consumers think, feel, reason, and select between different alternatives (e.g., brands, products, and retailers). It is designed to cover the essentials of consumer behaviour and consumer psychology and to give an appreciation of buying behaviour.
B02 Mathematics for Business
This module is designed to develop the necessary mathematical skills required for solving problems in economics, finance and related areas. It enables the student to acquire a basic knowledge of calculus (calculus of two variables, integration) and linear algebra as required in many economics and business related subjects.
B03 Business Statistics
This module is designed to develop basic statistical skills for use in business, management and related areas. It enables the student to acquire a basic knowledge of probability theory, the normal distribution, confidence interval estimates and hypothesis testing.
C01 Managing Change and Innovation
This module is designed to develop basic statistical skills for use in business, management and related areas. It enables the student to acquire a basic knowledge of probability theory, the normal distribution, confidence interval estimates and hypothesis testing.
D01 Microeconomics
This module is designed to cover the essentials of Microeconomics at a basic level. It aims to prepare students for entry level economics courses at the bachelor’s level. The focus is more on the way economists think rather than the extent of what they have said. Hence, the heart of the subject is the study of economic reasoning. The focus is on individual consumer and individual firm’s behaviour
D03 Marketing Research and Audit
The skills covered in this module are applicable to marketing problems encountered in both consumer and business-to-business markets, and public and private sectors. The aim is for students to make well-informed marketing research. To help formulate and structure marketing problems, recommend the marketing research that should be undertaken, appreciate what can and cannot be learned from marketing research, gather and analyze quantitative marketing data, and make effective decisions based on those data.
E03 Marketing Strategy Planning
This module is an introduction to the steps of marketing planning and provides practical insights into the key roles within a marketing department. It is a lively mix of theory and practice. This module aims to will help students interested in participating in upper-level management decision-making. This concentration provides the skills and abilities needed to manage customers, product lines, and new product development. It also helps students to develop plans and systematic strategies to achieve firm objectives.
